Samburu National reserve and Maasai Mara are the most visited parks in Kenya, for a long time Kenya has been known to be a land of tourists. Samburu National Reserve is 350 Kms from Nairobi. Plenty of wildlife can easily be spotted in Samburu National reserve including the 3 big cats, Lion, Leopard and cheetah, Not forgetting the magnificent elephants that roam freely at Samburu National reserve.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 – Nairobi – Samburu National reserve

Depart Nairobi early in the morning heading to Samburu National reserve, have lunch at a stop over on the way. Arrive late afternoon at the hotels. Check into hotels and prepare for evening game drive. At around 4 pm take the first African safaris.

Head back later in the evening for overnight stay at the hotel of choice, There are options of camping sites and even 3 star hotels. 

 

Day 2- Samburu National reserve- Full day Game drive

Start the day with a heavy breakfast and head out for a full day game drive. Samburu National reserve attracts a lot of wildlife because of the Ewaso Nyro and also the forest. If you are in search of the big five then this is the park to visit, the big cats lion, leopard and Cheetah can be found here as well as Herds of elephant’s&  buffalos and even hippos. Nile crocodiles are found in large numbers in the Ewaso Nyiro.

After picnic lunch continue with the game drive as you head back to the hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 3 – Samburu National reserve – Nairobi

Early morning African safaris are a chance for early morning killings, If lucky one will see the ultimate game killings.

Head back to hotel for check out and head to Nairobi
